Chinese version of Buick Envision is already introduced, but everyone still waiting for the U.S. model. Well, according to the newest rumors, the all-new 2016 Buick Envision could sneak through the back door of the 2015 New York auto show and surprise everyone. Compared to the Chinese model, the U.S. version will suffer some cosmetic changes, and possibly some small revamps under the hood. However, essentially the crossover should be pretty much the same vehicle as we already saw at Chengdu Auto Show last summer.
2016 Buick Envision: Exterior Changes and Features
Like we said, the 2016 Buick Envision will come slightly different than the Chinese model. The biggest cosmetic change appears to be otherwise colored badge, because the Chinese model wears a red-white- blue badge combination, while the American version comes with Buick’s chrome-only logo. Except of this, the 2016 Envision will also get a new interior design and a bigger number of standard features. The vehicle will be fully equipped, and some of the most useful features are: an adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, collision mitigation braking, forward collision alert, rear cross-traffic alert, as well as the Off-Road mode that helps drivers to deal with bumpy grounds, and the highlights like a like hands-free power tailgate, gull-wing doors, intelligent headlights and panoramic sunroof.
2016 Buick Envision: Engines
The U.S. version of 2016 Buick Envision will get the same base powertrain, but the drivers should be able to choose one more engine option. The second unit will be a V6 engine, while a base 2.0-liter four-banger with 256 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque comes like a base engine. The crossover SUV will be offered with a six-speed auto transmission only, and it will have an all-wheel-drive system that uses the double electronically controlled multi-plate clutches in rear wheels. Driving with a 2.0-liter engine, the 2016 Envision will achieve pretty good fuel economy number that is rated at 27 combined. It also shares the bones with the GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Cruze, but its exterior measures are different:
2016 Envision: Price
This amazing SUV is already priced in China, and the entry-level ‘AWD Elite’ model starts at $44,000. Still, the U.S. 2016 Envision should start with a lower point, which may be around $40K.
