According to newcarnewsandreviews.com, Opel’s crossover department is hurriedly working on the updated compact, which will be introduced early next year as the 2016 Opel Mokka. Since this SUV already stand as a quite good and reliable vehicle, the updated version will definitely get a standing ovation. Here’s why:
2016 Opel Mokka: Changes and Updates
The crossover will receive pretty usual cosmetic changes for the mid-cycle update. However, the new exterior styling will look really amazing with that outlandish Astra’s tweaks on the front fascia. There the 2016 Opel Mokka gets a new grille and all-new LED headlights in the front, as well as the new rear bumper and restyled taillight in the back. Inside, the carmaker will upgrade almost everything, starting from the new upholstery, through redesigned dash and upgraded infotainment.
Under The Hood: New Engines
The engine department will be really busy with the updated Mokka crossover, and since this is just a refresh, you will be delighted with the future engine options. The vehicle will get a new base new 1-liter ECOTEC three-cylinder Direct Injection Turbo engine, which will be the replacement for the current 1.6-liter mill. The new unit will be able to deliver around 105 hp, which will be sent to wheels by a 5-speed manual gearbox. In addition, the compact SUV will also replace its 1.4-liter unit with a new 1.4 engine that will produce 150 horsepower, while the diesel option should be a 1.6 CDTI.
Price and Arrival
Like we said before, the refreshed 2016 Opel Mokka will be introduced early next year, most likely at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show. However, the crossover won’t hit the showrooms before the next summer. Since this is just the facelifted model, we expect pretty the same price of the base model.
