2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali gets better features, more tech and new paints


We already know that GMC’s Sierra 1500 is getting a mild facelift, yet today we founded that the American car manufacturer plans to update the 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali too. The range-topping model won’t differ overly from the current version, but the expected changes will definitely make the difference.

The exterior design will be tweaked with a little bit revised lightening cluster. Both the headlights and taillamps will be refreshed, while the truck could also get a mild redesign of the hood and front fenders. The current NZT 20×9-inch aluminum wheels are dropped in favor of set of the all-new 22-inch aluminum wheels, which are getting chrome inserts. The 2017 Sierra 1500 Denali is also losing two colors. In place of outgoing Light Steel Gray Metallic and Iridium Metallic, the outstanding pickup will get Dark Slate Metallic and Mineral Metallic paints.

Inside, the 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali will sport a new two-tone Cocoa/Maple Sugar color styling, as well as several new and pretty useful features. Truck’s current navigation system is updated and better for Android Auto, which is integrated into the touch screen. Driver Alert Package will now feature Low Speed Mitigation Braking, while the IntelliLink system boosts really useful Teen Drive mode. The carmaker will also add IntelliBeam headlights and power adjustable pedals, while the leather-wrapped steering wheel gets heating option.

The carmaker has no intention to change anything under the hood, so you will be able to choose between the current 5.3-liter V-8 and 6.2-liter V-8 options. The 5.3-liter unit delivers 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, while the Corvette’s 6.2-liter mill pumps out 420 hp and 460 pound-feet of twist. Both options are paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission, and boosted with EcoTec3 technologies, which are direct fuel injection, variable valve timing, and active fuel management.

According to the first estimates, the updated Sierra 1500 Denali truck will retain the current price range.
