2017 Jeep Compass Gets Final Touch (Production Ready Model Is Spotted)

Jeep’s new generation Compass SUV has been spotted once again. The compact vehicle is still hidden beneath the heavy camouflage, and we still don’t know how will be named the new model, yet this time the spy shots reveal the production ready bodywork. Yes, the 2017 Jeep Compass (or whatever will be named) is finished, and this was one of the final tests ahead of its debut. Speaking of which, the interesting compact SUV should be introduced before the end of this year, so we think that the car manufacturer could present it at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show.

2017 Jeep Compass: Styling and Tech

The new generation Jeep Compass might be wrapped into the camo, but we still see the some of the important details. The carmaker seems to use some pretty familiar stuff, like the new headlights, which are already seen on the latest Grand Cherokee. In addition, there are LED daytime running lights, as well as very stylish fogs that are placed on the sides of the redesigned and bold bumper. The SUV sports a completely new grille design, which seems to features a mesh design, while the new hood looks more aggressive and clamshell-stylized. Around back, the 2017 Compass is getting a LED taillight design and two exhaust pipes.

The new interior doesn’t look new at all. We hope this isn’t the last word of the carmaker because the prototype revel pretty poor design, which features plenty of plastic through the dash and center console. On the other hand, we see here the new steering wheel that isn’t that new because it’s already used in the Cherokee. This can be said for the rest of the cab, which borrowed the HVAC setup from the more popular cousin.

New Engine Options and New Platform

The next-gen Compass will ride on the new platform, which is already used on the Fiat 500X. The “Small Wide 4×4” architecture will be stretched and adjusted, so the SUV can get both front- and all-wheel drive, as well as a six-speed manual and nine-speed automatic transmission options. However, it’s more important that the 2017 Jeep Compass is definitely getting a 2.0-liter Hurricane turbo-four engine that will power the next-generation Jeep Wrangler too. We have no idea what amount power the carmaker plans to offer under the hood of the 2017 Compass, but we know that the new engine can easily reach 300 horsepower, so it seems that the next Compass may become really powerful option. Of course, the carmaker will offer something less mighty as well. We place our bets on the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine to be the base option.

Stay tuned for updates…
