2017 Ram Rampage: Rumors, Platform and Design

At the moment, we have just several details about the 2017 Rampage, but still, judging by the rumors, this will be the smallest truck in Ram’s lineup. The carmaker has no intention to make the new platform for the vehicle, because they already have one that will work. It is the architecture from Fiat’s Strada pickup, which is manufacturer’s smallest truck in Europe and South America. According to that, the 2017 Ram Rampage will offer both, front-wheel and all-wheel drive, but except of the platform and drive setup the new pickup won’t get anything else similar to the Strada. This is because the carmaker plans to incorporate the design of their best-selling pickup, so the Rampage should feature many exterior similarities from the Ram1500 pickup.

2017 Ram Rampage: Engine Specs and Price

As for the drivetrain, the 2017 Ram Rampage will likely have two engine options. One will be a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine that delivers 135 HP and 150 lb-ft of torque, while the second and undoubtedly better choice will be a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder mill with 184 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. The engines will be paired to a standard front wheels and optional all-wheel-drive, while the transmission goes through a six-speed manual or ZF nine-speed auto gearbox.

And now the best part of the story: The 2017 Ram Rampage will hit the carmarket next year, and the starting price should be around $17,000, which is surely great news.
