2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Introduced: It’s Really Awesome


Well, this will be the shiniest star of the upcoming 2017 New York auto show without any doubt. We present you the fast and furious 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk  – world’s most powerful SUV. The amazing high-riding vehicle will make its official debut in a few days, but the carmaker decided to introduce it a little bit earlier.

The most significant part of the 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk lies under the hood of course. The SUV uses an awesome 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 and squeezes off all available power from it. Yes, the vehicle will get all 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque and the eight-speed Torqueflite transmission with paddle shifters, which will send the power to an all-wheel drive. According to the manufacturer, the mighty beast will be limited to 180 mph, while a 0-60 sprint stops at 3.5 seconds. They also claim it would be capable for a quarter mile time of 11.6 second, which is really amazing.

Naturally, the Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee needs to feature a special braking system, so the manufacturer added 13.78-inch vented rotors in back and 15.75-inch Brembo rotors chomped by yellow six-piston calipers in the front, which should be able to stop the SUV from 60 mph in just 114 feet.

Although significantly powerful, the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk sports the same towing capacity as the Grand Cherokee SRT8. Yes, it stops at 7200lbs. That’s not all because these two will have the same drive modes. Yes, the Trackhawk will have auto, sport, track, tow, and snow, but each mode brings something new and exciting as modifies all parameters starting from the transmission, AWD, suspension, and steering.

Styling wise, the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk isn’t too different from the SRT model. Okay, it separates with several details such as a new quad exhaust setup and 20-inch alloy wheels, but pretty much everything stays untouched. Oh yes, we forgot to mention that the Hellcat-powered SUV lost fog lights in favor of better cooling.

Inside, this baby sports hot treatment that includes Nappa leather, embroidered Berber floor mats, and a 200-mph speedometer. Of course, the latest 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen is also a standard part of the cab. It comes paired with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, are Trackhawk Performance Pages. This last one is in charge for monitoring and recording all performance parameters.
