2018 Maserati Levante GTS Spy Shots

We were right again. Maserati is definitely working on a high-performance SUV, and we have the first spy shots as the proof. As you can see, the 2018 Maserati Levante GTS will host a few exterior changes here and there. However, the biggest difference between the regular and high-end model is hiding beneath the hood.

2018 Maserati Levante GTS

It’s still unconfirmed, but we are absolutely sure that the SUV is getting a V8 engine. More precisely, the GTS badge will bring the stunning twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8, which currently powers the Quattroporte GTS. At the moment, the mighty mill is capable of delivering a staggering output of 523 hp (390 kW) and 524 lb-ft (709 Nm) of torque. Still, we would not be surprised if the SUV gets even more power. After all, the biggest rivals like Porsche’s Cayenne Turbo or the BMW X5 M are featuring a little bit more potent options, which is a reason more to believe that Maserati’s topper might feature some extra horses. Anyway, the potential drivers can expect a real beast capable to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds, with a top speed limited to 164 mph.

Although it features camouflage at its ends, the new high-performance Levante GTS will feature some additional changes. The Italian car manufacturer will definitely add bigger alloy wheels and brakes, as well as a special, sport-tuned suspension. There is a different exhaust system and bumper in the rear, while the front end looks sportier and features larger air intakes.

The awesome 2018 Maserati Levante GTS SUV should be ready either by the end of this year of for early 2018. There is no information regarding the price at the moment.
