We can’t really say why everyone loves black-painted vehicles. Perhaps the people see something mysterious in them? In any case, the majority of car manufacturers are familiar with the fact, so most of them offer “special” black trims for some of the models. Subaru’s 2018 Forester is getting ready to offer its so-called Black-Edition.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2018 Subaru Forester Black Edition will be available the 2.5i Premium model. At the non-black version currently costs $26,195, you will have to add around $1,150 extra for the limited edition. For than money, you will get the black-painted crossover with black-colored exterior accents. As you can see, only the grille sports chromed borders, while everything else comes strictly black. That not all, because the Black Edition also includes 18-inch wheels, special fog lights and different mirror caps. Inside, Subaru’s popular SUV will feature leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, as well as the upholstery clothed with faux leather. As we said the edition will be paired with around 170 hp strong 2.5-liter engine and CVT.
These are not the only big news for the 2018 Subaru Forester. The Touring 2.0XT model will be better for significantly boosted active torque vectoring for the 2.0-liter engine. The system significantly improves handling by applying brake pressure to the inside front wheel, which pushes more power to the outside of the wheels cutting back on wheel spin. In addition, the Touring (both 2.0XT and 2.5i versions) are getting standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, as well as High Beam Assist and Reverse Auto Braking.
Starting Price and Availability
The updated 2018 Forester SUV will become available this summer. The initial price starts significantly lower from the Black Edition, somewhere at $22,795 excluding the $915 destination and delivery. As you probably know, this base model is paired 2.5i and six-speed manual gearbox and includes the Starlink 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment.
