2019 Audi Q5L Gets Extra Inches For The Second Row

Audi added one more vehicle to its long-wheelbase portfolio. However, in contrast to three earlier occasions, this new “L” is added to one high-riding vehicle. Yes, after A4L, A6L, and A8L the German car manufacturer introduced the 2019 Audi Q5L. The SUV made its debut at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show and these are basic characteristics:

The long-wheelbase version of the mid-size crossover gets 3.5 inches extra over the regular model, which makes it 15.6 feet long. The extra space makes the interior really cozy and capable of receiving one more row of seating, but this hasn’t happened this time. Instead, all that inches are used to increase rear-seat arrangement. More precisely, knee room gets new 4.3 inches. Audi hasn’t made any change in the back, so the storage stays limited to 19.4 cubic feet. Though, it’s important to mention that the crossover offers 54.7 cubic feet when rear seats are folded down.

The 2019 Audi Q5L is mated to a sole engine. Motivation comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4. However, the potential buyers can choose between 190 hp and 252 horsepower. No matter which one the potential buyer choose it will get the standard seven-speed dual clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. By using the more potent option, the 2019 Q5L will be able to speed up from 0 to 62 mph in just 6.7 seconds.

The rest of the crossover is pretty much like the redesigned Q5 which has been introduced as a 2018 model. It benefits from lighter bodywork which also provides far better drive characteristics and handling. However, in contrast to the U.S. version that offers SQ5 and RS Q5 versions, the long-wheelbase vehicle is not getting any high-performance option for now. Moreover, the 2019 Audi Q5L will be available in China only. The stretched SUV will hit the Chinese dealerships this summer.
