We spotted the all-new 2019 BMW X3 M almost three months ago, but this time we got the first spy video of the high-performance crossover, so you will be able to hear the here a sound of a mighty engine that powers this compact beast.
As we announced earlier, the high-end vehicle will use a powerful and turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 engine, which is capable to pump out an amazing amount of power that is estimated to be around 425 horsepower 406 pound-feet of torque, which is also the current output of the M3 model. The mill will run all four wheels via seven-speed dual clutch transmission, but the German car manufacturer might also add an optional ZF-developed 8-speed.
Except of the “wild and crazy” powertrain, the 2019 BMW X3 M will also have a redesigned exterior styling, which will be largely different from the regular X3 model. This is because the range-topping model is getting a little bit wider and lowered body that will be additionally boosted with larger wheels and tires. The overall styling will exude more sportiness, which is pretty logical because of the mighty front end that sports a massive bumper with larger air intakes. The prototype reveals sportier side skirts, while the light but 20-inches big alloy wheels are getting really huge brakes.
The outstanding and really luxurious crossover will arrive sometime in 2018, so there is plenty of time for updates and more information. However, since the carmaker plans to attack such a strong segment that already has so big names as it’s the Porsche Macan Turbo or Audi’s RS Q5 SUV, don’t you expect too see the 2019 BMW X3 M’s price under $75K.
