Chevrolet’s largest SUV has been spiced up with a new engine. This is not the first time that the car manufacturer offers the Rally Sport Truck edition, though the 6.2-liter V-8 engine is something worthy of mentioning without any doubt. Yes, the 2019 Chevrolet Suburban RST gets a totally new Performance package with the amazing V8 engine and much more.
Under The Hood
The amazing 6.2-liter V-8 engine delivers 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, which is significantly more than the current topping option offers. Today’s version of the SUV is mated to a 5.3-liter V-8 engine that makes 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of twist, so you do the count. In addition, the 2019 Suburban RST is exclusively mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The gearbox is almost the same as the one in the Chevy Camaro ZL1. Thus, the SUV gest smaller steps between each ratio and provides maximum power, while the wide 7.39 overall gear ratio keeps RST’s highway fuel consumption as low as it’s possible. There is also the standard Active Fuel Management system that additionally improves MPG numbers of the model that’s coupled with the Performance package.
Special Kit
Speaking of which, the special accessories include 22-inch wheels with Bridgestone P285/45 22 tires, magnetorheological dampers, a red Brembo Brake package, and a Borla dual-side exit exhaust system. There is a black-gloss grille in the front and black Chevrolet badges.
Pricing Options
The car manufacturer has not released any pricing information so far, but the extra kit will most probably be priced as the carmaker done with the Tahoe. More precisely, the RST package will cost $2630 extra, while the RST Performance package should be priced $2720-2820 over the top Premier trim.
