Say what? Chevrolet is bringing new Silverado 4500HD/5500HD pickup trucks? Well, these are great news. According to the carmaker, the vehicles will be introduced this March at the 2018 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, which means that they should hit the showrooms by the end of this year.

The carmaker has released just a single teaser shot of the upcoming vehicle, so we have limited information about the 2019 Chevy Silverado 4500HD/5500HD at the moment. As far as we can see, the truck gets split headlights and the classic cross-bar grille, which are basically borrowed from the new-gen Silverado 1500. The Heavy Duty model appears to feature a big-rig-style high hood which fits perfectly and boost the overall impression.

According to the carmaker, the upcoming 4500HD/5500HD will offer regular and double-cab configurations, as well as two- and four-wheel drive. The teaser suggests that there’s a solid front axle up front and that’s pretty much everything we know so far.

Though we think that the power must come from Duramax diesel engines paired with Allison transmissions, yet we don’t know how many pones or twist could the units deliver. Chevrolet will have to try to be competitive with Ford F450/F550 and Ram 4500/5500 trucks, so the mills should be as good as rival’s amazing powertrains.

Stay tuned for updates.
