2019 Ford Edge Will Come Refreshed, More Luxurious and With A New Engine

Ford’s Edge crossover entered into the second generation as the 2015 model, so there is still no need for any change. However, the car manufacturer seems to thinks otherwise because we already saw the facelifted model, which is speculated to arrive sometime in 2018. The 2019 Ford Edge isn’t going to be too much different from the current version, but the changes will definitely bring something new.

2019 Ford Edge: Changes and Updates

The updated exterior styling is still in development phase, yet don-t you expect anything big. We hope to see a little bit “edgier” bodywork, especially in the front end which will get a redesigned grille and more angular headlights. The 2019 Edge will probably get a bigger bumper, and more aggressive hood design, while the rear end should sport restyled taillights and maybe the new exhaust outlets.

The biggest changes are expected inside of the 2019 Ford Edge because the amazing crossover should become more luxurious vehicle. The carmaker might introduce the new trim level with luxury badge that will offer everything you ask. In contrast to the present model that features a sophisticated look and amazing performance, the refreshed model will enter into the new segment with the top-notch features, which won’t include just the plenty of high-quality materials and comfortable seating with cooling and heating, but the outstanding technologies that will show Ford’s best face. However, we think that the mid-size SUV won’t get the optional third row of seating, at least not this time.

New Engine Option

The outstanding high-riding vehicle already sports a wide range of interesting engine options. Still, the manufacturer might add a new option, which will likely replace the current 3.5-liter unit. The new unit will be a 2.3-liter EcoBoost mill that delivers 310 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. As for the rest of the lineup, there will be a 2.0-liter EcoBoost that currently produces 245 HP and 275 lb-ft of twist. This engine should be boosted a little bit, so the output numbers might be higher. The most potent option of the 2019 Ford Edge will stay the 2.7-liter EcoBoost unit with 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft.

Stay tuned for more information in the coming months…
