It appears that the German car manufacturer prepares a revolutionary redesign of its high-selling model. The 2019 GLE will feature significantly more rugged design with plenty of changes. There’s a massive grille in the front, as well as completely new and really angular headlights. The SUV is also getting wider wheel arches, which will totally change vehicle’s appearance. Around back, the carmaker will add more dynamic and new taillight, while a redesigned bumper sports a dual exhaust layout.

Mercedes will equip the new generation GLE with the latest semi-autonomous driving system, which has been introduced with the new E-Class sedan.

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE will use a new platform. It’s so-called MHA architecture that will also underpin every SUV from the GLC up, except the iconic G-Class, which is getting its own chassis. Anyway, the platform supports a range of powertrain options, so you can expect the next-gen GLE with all-new inline-4 and -6 gasoline engines, and probably with several hybrid options. Of course, the AMG model will use an amazing twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8.  Mercedes will offer a couple of diesel options overseas, but not in North America. No matter which one engine you choose, you will get a standard 9-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.
