2019 SsangYong Korando Will Have Diesel, Gasoline and Electric Drivetrains

Have you heard of SsangYong? Me neither. I am just kidding. It’s the Korean carmaker, and it’s going to introduce one more interesting vehicle. After the amazing (and we mean it) Tivoli crossover, they are actually working on the 2019 SsangYong Korando, which will offer gasoline, diesel, and all-electric powertrains.

2019 SsangYong Korando: Engine Options

According to the latest reports, the base 2019 Korando will use a new direct injection 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, while the oil-burner model should come with a 1.6-liter diesel – the same one that powers the Tivoli. The range-topping Korando SUV is going to have a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. However, the most interesting will be EV model. We can’t say what’s going to be under the hood, but it will be able to cross around 186 miles (300 km) on a single charge. The electric powertrain will be developed by parent company Mahindra & Mahindra, so we should see more vehicles with the same system.

Stylish Exterior

Regardless the fact we haven’t seen the prototype, we already almost know everything about the design. This is because the carmaker already introduced the concept model (XAV-Adventure concept), which won’t suffer any big changes. Moreover, the 2019 SsangYong Korando should have the identical exterior styling.

Except for the all-new Korando, the Korean car manufacturer will also introduce the next-gen Rexton mid-size SUV, as well as the Tivoli convertible. It’s pretty clear that SsangYong grows rapidly.
