2019 Subaru Forester Teased Ahead Of 2018 New York Auto Show

We can’t really know anything about the vehicle based on a new taillight of the new-generation Subaru Forester, but hey, the crossover is coming soon, so let’s hope it’s going to be as interesting as the backlight. Luckily, we’ve spotted the redesigned fifth-generation Forester earlier, so we know pretty much everything about the popular crossover. Well okay, maybe not everything because it has been caught camouflaged, but there are plenty of important details. Though the 2019 Subaru Forester is going to be revealed this month at the 2018 New York Auto Show, so in case you don’t believe us, you can sit tight and wait for the official images from the show.

2019 Subaru Forester Teaser

In any case, as far as we know, the 2019 Forester is going to use Subaru Global Platform as the majority of Subaru’s new models. The 2017 Impreza has started with the architecture, so we know what’s going to happen beneath the skin of the automaker’s second most popular crossover (the first is the Outback of course). The platform supports all-wheel-drive system only. The SUV will definitely use boxer four-cylinder engines, and a CVT automatic transmission, though a manual could be available as an option. The new-gen Forester will reportedly offer a new hotted-up version, which will use a new 2.4-liter engine with exactly 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The topping crossover will get a tS badge. That’s not going to be all from the redesigned crossover. No, the manufacturer could also add the Forester Hybrid as well. Still, that’s pretty much everything we know about the electrified model at the moment.

2019 Subaru Forester spy

The teaser can’t tell anything regarding the future look, but we don’t have to be too smart to figure out what’s cooking there. The crossover will probably pick up the most interesting details form the larger Ascent. Plus, previous spy shots suggest a bit more dynamic in the overall design, as well as a few additional inches in the length. The extra space inside should boost the cargo and rear-seat arrangement, while the new cabin should host the latest infotainment and tech. The list of new features will include an updated version of EyeSight driver assistance tech without any doubt.

The 2019 Subaru Forester will be introduced on March 28 during the first press day, so stay tuned for updates.
