2020 Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Spy Shots and Performance Details

BMW’s next-generation X M promises to be one awesome high-performance SUV, though it won’t be alone in the world because we just saw the biggest competitor while it was checking out its abilities. The main rival is going to be the all-new 2020 Mercedes-AMG GLE63 of course. The outstanding vehicle has been spotted totally camouflaged, so it’s still pretty hard to find out what’s cooking beneath.

As far as we can see, up front, the performance SUV is hiding the Panamericana grille, while below the bumper hosts massive air intakes. The headlights are partly camouflaged, but LED treatment is evident even not. In addition, the side of the crossover reveals pretty large most likely 22-inch alloys mated to red brake calipers at the front and black calipers for the rear wheels. Around back, the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GLE63 is coupled with AMG quad exhaust pipes which are peeping out from the production-ready rear bumper. The rear end hosts a pair of narrower taillights than before. Speaking of angles, it’s important to say that the rear hatch also looks a bit more aggressive than earlier. Though, everything will be clearer after we see the C- and D-pillars.

The outstanding high-riding vehicle will use an impressive powertrain. The system will consist of 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 and a nine-speed automatic transmission and will deliver exactly 603 horsepower. The power will be sent to the rear-biased all-wheel-drive system.

We didn’t manage to see the new cabin this tie. Still, the redesigned topper won’t arrive before early 2019, so there is plenty of time to figure out what’s cooking inside. Moreover, the regular new-gen GLE will be introduced at this year’s Paris Motor Show, so it will be clearer what the carmaker prepares for the AMG version after we see the base model.
