2020 Nissan Qashqai previewed by the IMx concept, getting an all-electric system

The next generation Qashqai will receive a total makeover before the end of the decade. More precisely, it’s going to be introduced as the 2020 model year, featuring a completely new design language. The Japanese carmaker has previewed the IMx concept recently at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. The gorgeous concept crossover will reportedly serve as a basis for the 2020 Nissan Qashqai and Rogue Sport of course.

373 Miles and 420 Horsepower

The amazing styling influence won’t be everything the SUV will get from the concept. No, the IMx has shown Nissan’s new electric technology, which will definitely be a part of the redesign. Although we don’t expect as much power as the concept delivers, the 2020 Qashqai EV might be a really interesting option. The concept got a two-motor system and amazing battery system, which altogether develops 420 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque and a whopping drive range of 373 miles.

Standard ProPilot and Amazing Design

The redesigned crossover will host the latest technologies of course. The carmaker won’t skip the chance to offer the ProPilot Assist, which provides some serious self-driving experience. We also don’t expect concept’s panoramic OLED instrument panel, but the next Qashqai will host more futuristic interior without any doubt.

As for the exterior design of the 2020 Nissan Qashqai, well, it’s not going to look like the IMx, but it will definitely resemble the concept. The overall design will be toned down a little bit, while the roof should be less aerodynamic. Still, the awesome front end will be almost unchanged, which would be really awesome.

Although it’s getting a new platform and electric powertrain, the next-generation Nissan Qashqai won’t get rid of the traditional engines. No, the compact SUV will definitely continue to over at least two gasoline units, as well as a plug-in hybrid option.
