2021 Genesis GV70 Compact SUV Spied Testing – Looks Good!

Genesis is growing! The brand that’s essentially Hyundai’s premium lineup is expanding its offer as we speak. After the automaker introduced itself with the powerful G80 and a pair of smaller smooth and sexy sedans, they’ve decided to take another step forward with two SUVs. And while the carmaker’s first-ever crossover, the GV80 is almost done, the second one just started testing. Yes, the Korean automaker works on a new, luxurious and compact 2021 Genesis GV70.

Since the carmaker intends to attack territory where currently rule the BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC, the 2021 GV70 has to be ultrafast and extra-sweet, so to say.

Based on the spy shots, the luxury SUV shares a lot with the upcoming GV80. In case you don’t see, there are exactly the same split horizontal headlights and a very similar grille. Still, its definitely a far more attractive option due to its smaller footprint and more aggressive looks that include additionally raked roofline, ultra-aggressive stance, and a longer hood.

The compact luxury SUV will use the same platform as the G70, which means that we have been dealing with the rear-wheel-drive model. Though, the automaker might decide to use AWD only. Either way, the crossover will most definitely get a pair of amazing options under the hood. Yes, potential buyers will be able to choose between the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and the more powerful twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6. While the turbo-four burn tires with 252 hp, the amazing V6 cuts air thanks to 365 ponies.

While the mid-size GV80 is going to be introduced early next year, the compact-sized GV70 should wait for the next summer. Hopefully, we will find out more details about it in the coming months.
