2021 Hyundai NE Will Be An All-New Compact Electric Crossover

Hyundai won a jackpot with its small Kona electric crossover without any doubt. The electric vehicle is attractive, urban, eco-friendly, and above all, very popular. Now, when the Korean car manufacturer knows what to do, why would they stop at the Kona only? Well, they won’t! Instead, the automaker started working on another electric crossover SUV, which will sit above the Kona. This still unnamed vehicle will reportedly arrive in two years from now. In contrast to the Kona’s ICE architecture, the model that’s internally known as the 2021 Hyundai NE will ride on a dedicated platform that’s reported to be named the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

The future compact-sized SUV from Hyundai with zero-emission will allegedly use new battery technology. According to the newest reports, however, the company hasn’t picked battery supplier for the crossover so far, so we have no details. The same reports claim a pretty impressive drive range for the 2021 Hyundai NE. The electric SUV should be able to travel around 280 miles on a single charge. This means that the Korean car manufacturer intends to occupy Tesla’s Model Y territory.

The future compact-sized electric crossover has not been spied testing so far, we have no idea how exactly is going to look like the vehicle that’s currently known as the Hyundai NE. Still, bearing in mind how good the Kona looks, we have no doubt in Hyundai’s designing team at all. Moreover, we are looking forward to meeting the next electric crossover SUV from Hyundai.
