Redesigned 2020 Range Rover Evoque: First Images Of The Amazing Luxury SUV

Land Rover’s popular and highly anticipated compact SUV is finally ready to be introduced. The crossover SUV that’s going to make debut in a few days at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show made its online debut a few hours ago. We are talking about the completely redesigned 2020 Range Rover Evoque of course.

You don’t have to be some kind of automobile genius to understand what made the biggest influence on the new-gen Evoque. Yes, the small luxury SUV took everything that’s good from the gorgeous Velar and become more attractive and aggressive. Even though the aggressive design makes the vehicle looking larger, this is not going to be the case. No, the 2020 Evoque will keep exactly the same footprint.

The new model hosts power-extending door handles for all doors. Speaking of doors, it’s important to know that there will be a three-door model available. Moreover, chances of seeing even a convertible Evoque are fairly minimal. The redesigned SUV gets more sloped rooflines, but it keeps predecessor’s big and wide shoulders. Up front, the 2020 Range Rover Evoque hosts a restyled honeycomb grille and a pair of aggressive and slim LED headlights. Around back, the SUV gets a bit wider tailgate thanks to the new taillights, which feature two-piece design.

Inside, the redesigned Range Rover Evoque gets a royal treatment without any doubt. The luxury SUV features Touch Pro Duo touchscreen control system, which pairs two 10-inch touchscreens. They are in charge of infotainment and most of the functions. There is also a 12.3-inch information gauge cluster. The cabin is covered with the finest leather and soft-touch materials. Essentially, you won’t get any better treatment if you choose a higher trim level, because all of them get leather treatment. Instead, the toppers will be more fashionable.

The second-generation Evoque SUV will be introduced with 6 engine options. The entry-level model will use a 2.0-liter turbo-4 that makes 246 horsepower. The same option will be a part of a mild-hybrid system that combines the mill with a 48-volt system for a total output of 296 horsepower. The list includes a plug-in hybrid drivetrain too. The system squeezes off up to 300 hp from its engine and electric motor. There will be a trio of diesel options as well. The potential buyers will be able to make a choice between D150, D180, and D240 flavors.

The SUV is fitted with the latest all-wheel-drive system that’s called Active Driveline. The system is able to transfer power between the front and rear wheels and thus simulates torque vectoring. Plus, it can also lock rear wheels when it’s needed. The new Evoque gets ClearSight Ground View system that shows the driver what’s underneath the car. With its 8.3 inches of ground clearance and wheels that can be up to 21-inch large, the model seems to be pretty safe to go off the path. Everything looks even better when we know that the successor gets around 13 percent stiffer body than the outgoing model.

Stay tuned for updates.
