It seems that Suzuki prepares the all-new SUV. Well, not exactly the SUV, but something similar. It will be the 2016 Suzuki Ignis, a new mini crossover SUV that will offer an amazing performance and pretty unusual exterior styling. If you remember, the car manufacturer already introduced the 2016 Suzuki Ignis, but that was in concept form. This is almost exactly the same vehicle as the iM-4 concept that was introduced at this year Geneva auto show.
2016 Suzuki Ignis features bold exterior and boring interior
We say almost because the production model features some small changes on the exterior design. The front end is exactly the same as it was. It has an unusual front fascia that has a specific “sunglass-styled” front grille and the LED headlamp design, and pretty interesting front bumper and fog lamps. In the back, the tiny crossover SUV gets a redesigned bumper and the all-new taillights that are now vertical instead of concept’s horizontal. As for the other differences, the side mirror styling seems changes, as well as a stylish roof spoiler that was really nice detail on the concept version. Inside, the 2016 Ignis will look rather average and common. There is a simple dash design and no infotainment system; and moreover, you will find a touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard if you chose a higher specs model.
2016 Suzuki Ignis gets two engines
This small crossover SUV with pretty bold exterior appearance and unimpressive interior design will also have two completely different drivetrain options. One will be a 1.2-liter Dualijet that develops 89 horsepower and 89 lb-ft of torque, while the second option is an all-new and amazing 1.0-liter Boosterjet engine. This (surely better) one will be able to produce 110 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque, and paired to a five-speed manual or a CVT transmission. On the other hand, the 1.2liter Dualijet can be matted with a same five-speed manual and with a six-speed auto gearbox.
2016 Suzuki Ignis will be low-priced crossover SUV
Like we said, the 2016 Suzuki Ignis will make its debut at this year Tokyo auto show, while it is expected to hit the dealership in early 2016. There is no reliable information regarding the price, but the rumors say it will start under $17,000, which is great deal for sure.
