2017 Acura MDX — Updated Model could Get Better Powertrain and Tech

The rumors about refreshed 2017 Acura MDX are all over the Internet, and since Honda released the 2016 Pilot that irresistibly resembles current MDX, we think that there is a big chance for update of this luxury full-size SUV. However, Acura’s outstanding seven-seater will probably receive just a mild facelift, without comprehensive and dramatic changes.

2017 Acura MDX: Exterior Changes and New Infotainment

According to the rumors, the exterior styling of 2017 Acura MDX will get some new and hot details, especially in the front end. The front fascia will receive new design, which should have a lot in common with Acura SUV-X global concept, so there might be a new and more aggressive front bumper,  and more angular headlight styling. The emotional and sharp styling should “scoop” the whole body, and the rear end could get more chrome details and likely new taillights. Inside, the SUV will get redesigned dash and an updated infotainment system.

2017 Acura MDX: Possibly with More Power

The engine department will likely stick to the current choice, but still, there might be some changes. These are also speculations, yet some experts believe that MDX’s Current 3.5-liter Earth Dreams V-6 engine needs more power, so the automaker could do a small revamp on it. At the moment, this engine deliver 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, but if comes boosted, it should go over 300 hp. Essentially, the all-wheel-drive model already works amazing with the Super-Handling (SH-AWD) system, but the front-wheel-drive model really needs small modifications, and we think that this will be the key change of the drivetrain.

2017 Acura MDX: Arriving in 2016 with the Same Price

The refreshed 2017 Acura MDX should be introduced sometime in 2016, most likely mid-year, while it will hit the showrooms in early 2017. However, regardless the update, this full-size luxury SUV should stick to the current price that now starts at $42,765.
