2017 GMC Acadia: Redesigned SUV Is Smaller And Lighter. Offers Two Engines.

Earlier report about the next generation GMC Acadia swept just the surface, while we now know all the details about the popular SUV. The first that you got to know is that the carmaker plats to shave a few inches in length. However, except it will come just a bit smaller, the 2017 GMC Acadia will also shave some weight, so one of the last rugged SUVs around might also get a better fuel economy numbers.

What we also found out is that the SUV might have one more engine to offer. Namely, according to the latest reports, there will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from Cadillac ATS. Both engines will be paired to a new eight-speed automatic transmission, while a six-speed auto remains an entry-level gearbox.

2017 GMC Acadia: Design and Price

The redesigned 2017 GMC Acadia won’t get just better performance, but it will also have more attractive styling. The camouflaged prototype shows us that the carmaker has no intention to go far away from the current design, but still, the capable SUV will offer a modern and fresh appearance, especially inside. The interior is rumored to have some sweat changes like a taller center console and more compact center stack. The dash design will be pretty different, while you will also see GMC’s new IntelliLink touchscreen, which will be the host of navigation and radio control. In addition, the rugged SUV will have a redesigned steering wheel that will be simpler.

And while we thought that the 2018 GMC Acadia should be ready next summer, the newest reports indicate that the new generation SUV won’t be available before fall. The base model should start low at around $32,000, while the top trim level could easily go over $50,000.
