2017 Honda CR-V Could be Bigger and More Luxurious SUV

It seems that Honda’s hottest crossover SUV prepares plenty of important changes for the next-generation arrival. Judging by the latest rumors, the all-new, 2017 Honda CR-V won’t be the car you know now. The manufacturer has a plan to make more space for the 2016 HR-V model, so their best-selling CR-V model is about to change its current segment. The vehicle won’t come as the compact crossover as usual. Believe it or no, the new generation Honda CR-V will arrive as the three rows, seven seats SUV, which will also show more premium and luxurious fell.

2017 Honda CR-V Gets Seven Seats

Since, the 2017 CR-V coming as a seven-seater, Honda must rework whole body. The future car will definitely become larger, which means that it could get an all-new architecture, or it could possibly borrow the platform from the 2016 Honda Pilot. In addition, the crossover is rumored to feature lots of details from the new HR-V, especially inside. This refers to cab design of course, while the infotainment and entertainment should be more alike to the new Pilot SUV. Compared to the current version, the new generation model must come as a more premium vehicle, so the overall redesign should bring more refined detail inside and out. Unfortunately, we must leave you without more close information at the moment.

New Engines and Higher Price?

The engine department could be busy as well. The 2017 Honda CR-V might get several new drivetrains, but for now we have just one scenario. The best-selling SUV will come with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine from HR-V crossover, which could be more powerful, a definitely paired with a CVT gearbox. The second option under the hood will be a current 2.4-liter EarthDreams direct-injected mill that will be upgraded as well. This engine should be paired to an all-wheel-drive only.

We have no all details about the redesign, but it is quite clear that the 2017 Honda CR-V becomes more premium vehicle. This also means that the crossover could become more expensive. In any case, you can expect the new generation model sometime in 2016, most likely in the end of the year.
