2017 Jeep Compass: Here Are The First Official Photos

The all-new 2017 Jeep Compass is scheduled to land on the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Still, the carmaker decided to introduce the completely redesigned compact SUV with several official photos before the LA debut. Moreover, thy shared some quite important information, so we already know what to expect from the new generation Compass, which will be sold worldwide.

What’s Under The Hood:

According to the carmaker, the 2017 Jeep Compass will be offered with 17 different powertrain. Now, this doesn’t mean it will have 17 entirely new engines. It means there will be 17 combinations between the engines, transmissions, and tractions. As for the US engine options, the most impressive option will be an all-new 2.0-litter Hurricane mill, which is able to deliver up to 300 horsepower. As for the base option, the manufacturer could offer either an updated 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine, or a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. In any case, they promise class-leading off-road abilities and good fuel economy. No matter which one engine you pick, you will be able to choose between front- and all-wheel drive. The produced hasn’t said anything regarding the transmission options, but we think there will be both, a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic gearbox offered.

Styling, Features, Platform

The new generation Compass shares the Small-Wide platform with the current Renegade, but these two have no other similarities, especially on the styling. The all-new compact SUV appears to have more in common with the big Grand Cherokee, which is pretty noticeable in the front end. The Cherokee’s face is so evident, but it fits perfectly to the new Compass, due its dynamic body. As you may see, there will be also the range-topping Trailhawk model, which will definitely have plenty of off-road and high-performance kit, like red tow hooks, large wheels, special suspension, sunroof and more. The interior looks quite unique and totally different from the predecessor. Moreover, it seems there will be a number of high-tech features and Jeep’s latest safety systems.

Official Debut and Sale

Like we said, the 2017 Jeep Compass will make its debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, but the model won’t hit the US market before the first quarter of the 2017. Shortly after, the SUV will arrive in Europe, China and other markets.
