2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Spied: Gets Styling Updates and More Power

In contrast to previous speculations about a refreshment of the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, this time we have some very first details about it. The impressive SUV has been spotted partly camouflaged, so now we have pretty good idea what the carmaker plans. The testing mule hides just the front end, which clearly gets some changes, but there might be some modifications in the rear end too.

2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee: New Exterior Tweaks and Upgraded Infotainment

What we see here is that the 2017 Grand Cherokee definitely gets a refreshed front end, which gets some totally different styling tweaks. The updated off-road vehicle will feature a new grille with wider slats, as well as the restyled bumper, which will have completely new and stylish fog lights. In the rear, the SUV seems unchanged at the moment, but we still hope for some cosmetic changes there. The interior redesign will have more notable changes, and you could get an updated Uconnect infotainment, new trims and essentially better dash design.

More Power From Pentastar

Under the hood, the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee will offer a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that should be exactly the same as it is now and great 3.6L Pentastar V-6 engines. The impressive Pentastar will come largely updated, and the new direct injection system will be able to provide amazing power output of 300 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. As for some other engines, there is some information that the manufacturer works on the performance SRT model, but we are not so sure about it.

In either way, since the updated 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee turns 75 years very soon, the car manufacturer will likely do an early debut, most probably next March at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. On the other hand, the all-new model won’t be available until 2019.
