2018 Audi Q6 Will Become Tesla’s Biggest Nightmare

Tesla’s cars are maybe the best electric choice at the moment, but according to the latest reports, they will not stay at the top for that long as they expected. This is because they will get the big rivals, especially in the crossover category, which will be ricer for the new vehicle that is scheduled for the 2017 year. This will be the new four-ringer, so called 2018 Audi Q6, which is rumored to be all-electric crossover SUV.

2018 Audi Q6: Platform and Drivetrains

As every other new generation SUV from Audi, the Q6 will also ride on the new generation modular-longitudinal (MLB) platform. This makes plenty of space for the big choice of engine options and an extensive use of aluminum. The initial plan of the carmaker is to equip the crossover with all possible engines, so except of the all-electric drivetrain, the 2018 Q6 will also offer gasoline, diesel and even a hydrogen powertrain. However, now we have an idea for the electric option only. It will be pretty similar drivetrain as one that will have the upcoming Audi R8 e-tron, so you can expect an engine that delivers 500 horsepower and even more lb-ft of torque, as well as the all-wheel-drive setup. The drivetrain is rumored to be able to achieve over 300 miles on one charging, which is fantastic.

2018 Audi Q6: Aggressive Design

As for the design, the first teaser image of the 2018 Audi Q6 SUV indicates that the manufacturer works on the coupe-like design, which will also add some styling cues from the amazing Prologue concept. This means you can expect a handsome crossover with an aggressive design and plenty of new tweaks – pretty similar to the upcoming Audi Q8.

This 2018 Audi Q6 SUV will be just the beginning of four rings electric vehicles, and as we have heard, the carmaker will make all their models with the electric drivetrain before 2025 year. Of course, this doesn’t mean that they will cancel other engines.
