2018 Audi RS4 Avant Spotted Redesigned: The High-End Wagon Will Debut in September

You are looking at a prototype of one of the best wagons that will become available next year. It’s the 2018 Audi RS4 Avant – a wagon that will blow you away without any doubt. The vehicle has been spotted near the Nurburgring, and we can say that it looks significantly better from its predecessor. Plus, the German car manufacturer added a bunch of new tech inside and a new engine.

In contrast to today’s model that uses the thirsty naturally aspirate V8 mill, the 2018 Audi RS4 Avant will get a V6 engine. Despite it is getting the engine with smaller displacement, the amazing wagon won’t lack power at all. No, because it’s getting Panamera’s 2.9-liter engine, which is capable of pumping out 450 horsepower and 442.5 lb-ft of torque. The unit will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The redesigned RS4 Avant will also switch the platform, which might have a slight influence on the curb weight, and thus on car’s performance. According to information we have, the wagon will be able for a 0-60 sprint of around 4.0 seconds, while top speed should be limited to 155 mph. Of course, the carmaker will offer an optional package with raised limit on 174 mph.

Styling wise, the 2018 Audi RS4 Avant will definitely look more aggressive that the A4 Avant. The high-performance wagon will feature totally different and more aggressive bumpers and side skirts, as well as pronounced wheel arches. Around back, the car sports oval exhaust pipes, which are basically signature for all RS models, and a pair of redesigned taillights. The prototype is hiding that, yet we are pretty sure that the production model gets larger alloy wheels with carbon ceramic brakes.

The RS4 variant will look better inside from the A4 Avant. The topper will feature special sports seats and RS badges all around, as well as some high-quality materials. The carmaker would also add a ton of active safety features and the best possibly infotainment and entertainment systems.

The German automaker already booked a free space for the 2018 Audi RS4 Avant at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, so don’t expect to see the amazing wagon anytime sooner.
