2018 Buick Regal Wagon Is Ready and Looks Gorgeous

Buick’s all-new Regal Wagon is heading to the 2017 New York auto show together with the sedan sibling. Now, we saw testing models several times before, but never this close to the production. The amazing car looks a lot more slippery than its predecessor, and regardless of the fact that we don’t see beneath the camouflage, it’s pretty clear that will be gorgeous and ultra-attractive. After all, the 2018 Buick Regal Wagon will share most of the components with Opel’s Insignia.

The wagon or TourX model features a dynamic exterior design with streamlined hood and smooth rooflines. The front end sports Buick’s signature waterfall grille and attractive headlights. Below, the carmaker made a pronounced bumper which appears to have a slim yet long air intake.

The 2018 Buick Regal Wagon will compete with some pretty luxurious rivals such as Audi Allroad and Volvo V60, so it needs to be at least as good as they are. This is why we expect pretty impressive equipment inside, as well as only premium soft-touch materials.

The biggest worry of the future TourX will be related to the wagon’s performance. As we have found out, the attractive vehicle will use 1.5- and 2.0-liter turbocharged engine options, both borrowed from the current Malibu. It might also get 1.6-liter diesel, but we are not sure whether any of units can match with Audi’s awesome Allroad. Perhaps the topping 2.0-liter can, yet we think it’s a lot worse from German’s turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve inline-4. In any case, unlike the sedan that gets optional AWD, the 2018 Regal Wagon will use all four wheels as the standard part of the powertrain. Of course, an eight-speed automatic will be the only available transmission.

Stay tuned for updates. As we said, the car will go live from this year’s New York Auto Show that starts in a few days.
