2018 Chevrolet Equinox Rises The Base Price At $24,475

Chevrolet’s new generation Equinox is ready. The hot crossover goes on sale next spring, so the car manufacturer decided to announce the price. According to Chevrolet, the 2018 Equinox will start at $24,475 including destination, which is around $480 higher from the current base model. Now, they haven’t mentioned anything about the cost of the other trim levels, so we will have to wait a few more months for the pricing information about LS, LT, and Premier trims.

The base 2018 Chevrolet Equinox offers a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that’s capable of producing 170 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. In case you want something more powerful, there will be a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder mill with 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This unit is paired to the new nine-speed automatic gearbox. The US model will be offered with an oil-burner for the first time. It’s a 2.0-liter turbodiesel powertrain and promises 136 horses and 236 lb-ft of torque. This unit is the most efficient as well. It achieves around 40 mpg highway.

Compared to the available base model that sports rather modest equipment, the redesigned Equinox will come with some impressive features. For instance, the base model gets a standard 7-inch MyLink touchscreen display and the latest multimedia. It also loads an impressive safety kit that includes a forward collision system with automatic braking, as well as a 360-degree camera system. In case you want some additional equipment, you can choose some options like an optional 8-inch display, or the impressive safety goodies as Teen Driver, Rear Seat Reminder, low speed forward automatic braking, lane keep assist with departure warning and Safety Alert Seat.
