Mid-size pickup truck segment is becoming richer for one more amazing model. GMC is bringing a completely new trim for this year, which will be known as the 2018 GMC Canyon All Terrain. The new workhorse will knock you down without any doubt. It’s based on four-wheel drive SLE trim, yet it provides a significantly better off-road kit, as well as plenty of “indoor” conveniences. Plus, the model gets a few interesting visual tweaks here and there.
The 2018 GMC Canyon All Terrain comes mated to the Z71 suspension package. It rides on special 17×8.0-inch aluminum wheels and P255/65R17 all-terrain tires. The wheels are painted in Dark Argent Metallic, making the visual moment even better. Speaking of the exterior, as you may see, the truck sports a bit lowered front bumper and redesigned grille with specific inserts. The carmaker also replaced the regular DL6 mirrors with better DG6 heated power-adjustable, body-color outside mirrors. Around back, the All Terrain model gets no changes except body-colored bumper. For 2018 model year, GMC decided to delete two exterior colors (Cyber Gray Metallic and Bronze Alloy Metallic) and add Marine Blue Metallic and Satin Steel Metallic.
Inside, the 2018 Canyon All Terrain offers an additional comfort including heated front seats and power lumbar control for both front seats. The pickup is coated in Cobalt Red cloth upholstery and equipped with 4.2-inch AM/FM audio system. There is a standard 7.0-inch Color Touch Screen with IntelliLink, but the All Terrain comes only with an optional 8.0-inch system. The new model also sports transfer case shield and Hill Descent Control.
The 2018 GMC Canyon gets no changes under the hood. The mid-size workhorse is paired with 2.5-liter inline-4 and 3.6-liter V6 gasoline mills, while you can also pick an oil-burner model with a Duramax 2.8-liter turbo diesel. However, the diesel and smaller gasoline unit are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the topping V6 gets the standard eight-speed automatic transmission.
The manufacturer hasn’t released any pricing information until today, but this should change in the coming days, so stay tuned.
