Chinese public was lucky to see Honda’s new crossover first, but this doesn’t mean that the Japanese car manufacturer won’t introduce the all-new coupe-like crossover to some other markets. Moreover, the latest rumors suggest that the 2018 Honda Avancier might easily arrive in North America, so look for the amazing car either at the upcoming LA auto show, or early next year at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show. According to the latest reports, the US-specs model won’t be too different form the Chinese version, so we already know what to expect.
2018 Honda Avancier: Styling
We are not sure whether Honda planned something like this, but the upcoming 2018 Honda Avancier really looks like Crosstour successor. After all, the “Avancier” name might be special for Asian market, so this could the new generation Honda Crosstour. In any case, the mid-size coupe-looking crossover looks really great. The handsome bodywork largely resembles on the Honda Concept D, but this doesn’t refer on the front end, which is rather unique and pretty aggressive. There are LED headlights and fog lamps, as well as highly sculpted hood with triple vent setup triple vent setup. Altogether, the vehicle looks wide and dynamic, but this is due the wide side skirts and really large wheel arches. Around back, the 2018 Avancier isn’t too aggressive at all. The carmaker made quite attractive taillights, which are connected with chromed stripe, while the dual exhaust tip seems ready for a mighty engine.
Under The Hood
Speaking of which, the 2018 Avancier will use a new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. This so called “Sport Turbo” unit is all-new at the moment, and we have no further details about it. As for the other options, the base model will probably use a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter unit. The engines should be paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system only.
Cab and Safety
We are never completely satisfied with any interior, because it can be always better. However, this time, we have no any remarks. The crossover looks quite luxurious with premium materials and leather upholstery. The center stack is well organized, while a large touchscreen display seems to be on the right place. The seats have heated and ventilated option, and the rear seating passengers are able to use touch screen display for entertainment. Honda’s SENSING system is also here, which definitely includes some amazing safety features like lane keep assist, collision mitigation with steering assist, active cruise control and rear park assist.
Estimated Price
There is nothing official regarding the price of the 2018 Honda Avancier, but we think it can’t cost under $40K.
