2018 Infiniti QX50 Concept Is Heading To The 2017 Detroit Auto Show

It seems that Nissan’s luxury brand have pretty high expectations of the next generation QX50. After they previewed the amazing crossover in April at the 2016 Beijing auto show, the carmaker plans to do that once again at the 2017 NAIAS. However, in contrast to April’s concept that made the debut as the QX Sport Inspiration, this one will come as the 2018 Infiniti QX50 concept.

The differences between two concepts are pretty small, which is great because the production model won’t differ at all. At least we think so. In contrast to the current model that lacks dynamic, the 2018 QX50 looks really stunning. The redesigned crossover sports plenty of dramatic lines that make it sexy and handsome. While the front end features impressive grille and aggressive headlights, the profile boosts dynamic with a floating roof. Around back, the carmaker made it even more gorgeous with the magnificent hatch and amazing taillights.

The sleek and sexy exterior design isn’t everything you will get from the 2018 Infiniti QX50 concept. The Japanese car manufacturer plans to introduce some completely new technologies as well. This includes ProPilot driver assist, which is essentially a new self-driving technology. The feature won’t enable the true self-driving, but it will be quite useful in traffic or highway cruise.

The 2018 QX50 will also come with an all-new engine. It’s a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4. The unit will be able to deliver significantly more power from the current 208 hp and 258 lb-ft. According to Infiniti, the new mill will produce around 68 horsepower and 288 pound-feet of torque, as well as a little bit better fuel economy numbers. They also claim that the engine can change its compression ratios to anything between 8:1 and 14:1, so the engine could serve across Infiniti’s complete lineup.

Like we said, the 2018 Infiniti QX50 concept will be introduced at the upcoming 2017 Detroit auto show, so there will be more information about the interesting crossover in the coming days.
