2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Spied Testing

Every previous testing Wrangler model we saw was the two-door variant, yet now we managed to catch the amazing four-door version. The prototype of what we believe to be the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited sports quite usual design. Judging by the spy shots, the carmaker has no intention to mess overly with the exterior styling. Instead, they will rather improve the current styling, but also keep SUV’s distinctive lines.

2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Looks More Aggressive

Still, the evolutionary design will sport several notable changes, especially in the front end that features quite aggressive bumper, which wasn’t case with the earlier testing models. In addition, we see the different windshield and new grille, as well as totally redesigned wheels. Of course, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will get plenty other new exterior details, but we can’t see it at this moment. As far as we may notice, the headlights design will keep its round design. The four-door off-roader will also feature a different chassis, but we are still unsure whether the SUV is getting the aluminum treatment or not. It is clear that the car manufacturer must involve some lightweight materials, but we think it won’t be that radical as Ford’s lineup.

Engine Options

The redesigned Wrangler Unlimited will offer the same engine options as the regular two-door model. The base version will drive an updated Pentastar V-6 unit, while you can also expect some kind of hybrid and diesel options too. In addition, the iconic SUV will also get a four-cylinder engine. It may sound ridiculous to you, but this is so called 2.0-liter Hurricane mill, which is capable to deliver 300 horsepower. The carmaker will keep the standard 6-speed manual, but it will also offer an eight-speed auto transmission.

Price and Arrival

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will come late this year with the starting price slightly below $30K.
