2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon Spy: Gets An Amazing 4.0-Liter Engine

The awesome Mercedes-AMG E63 is getting one more “flavor” The German car manufacturer is currently working on the wagon model, which will definitely receive the amazing styling and astonishing performance from the sedan sibling. Of course, they won’t skip the chance to introduce both “non-S” and “S” 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagons.

As for the base model (well, there is nothing “base” under the hood, but let’s say “base”), it will use a 4.0-liter V-8 engine that is fitted with twin-scroll turbochargers. The mill delivers around 563 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, which will enable an amazing 0-60 sprint of 3.4 seconds. The 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon will get the same drivetrain, but the output figures will reach a whopping 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft. Top speed will be limited to 186 mph, while the engine comes paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system called 4MATIC+.

The prototype we saw still wears camouflage, but it is so obvious that it gets sedan’s front end. There are distinctive bulges on the hood and typical headlights, as well as pretty much the same air intakes. The ground clearance appears to be in the same spot, while the roof seems to be very sleek. The rear hatch looks pretty good as well. The taillights sports quite interesting cues, while the AMG-trademark quadruple exhaust pipes make the rear more impressive. As for the interior, well we haven’t seen it yet, but we are pretty sure it will be pretty much the same as we saw inside of the sedan variant. Of course, the trunk will have notably more space, but this is the main purpose of every wagon.

There is no official word from the carmaker, yet we think that the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon should be introduced at the next Geneva auto show. The car should cost as the sedan sibling, which is around $102,000. Yep, this wagon gets a six-figure price.
