2018 Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Coupe: Hot SUV Spied on Skiing


Mercedes-Benz’s GLC Coupe won’t the coolest coupe-like SUV anymore because the performance division is making its own version. We just caught a prototype of what seems to be the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Coupe while it was skiing in the snowy Sweden. The high-end crossover-coupe is spotted with very little camouflage, so we suppose it will be ready very soon.

2018 Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Coupe Features Some Heavy Kit

The hot prototype sports some signature AMG elements on the exterior that makes it more attractive from the regular model. In the front, the SUV sports the distinctive protruding grille and more aggressive bumper with larger air intakes. It’s also riding on larger alloy wheels, which are getting beefier brakes. Around back, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Coupe seems to get a new bumper and AMG’s quad exhaust tips. Of course, the amazing car will feature a sportier suspension system as well.

One Engine But Two Options

The topping coupe-looking SUV will definitely use a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. The engine will be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel 4Matic setup. The standard option will deliver 469 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, while the S model should be able of producing up to 503 HP and 516 pound-feet of twist.

We can’t really say whether the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Coupe is coming this March at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show or sometime later,  but we can assure you it will be one of the best coupe-like SUVs available. Moreover, the biggest rival of the fascinating crossover will be the upcoming Jaguar F-Pace SVR and Audi’s future RS Q5.
