2018 MG ZS SUV Will Arrive Very Soon

British company MG is working on an all-new SUV, which should be the ready sometime next year. We already saw the camouflaged prototype that appears to be similarly sized as Nissan’s Juke. The vehicle should be named the 2018 MG ZS, and since it features a baby-SUV footprint, it will be the biggest rival with the aforementioned crossover.

2018 MG ZS: Styling Details

The upcoming ZS SUV is still camouflaged, but since it features the production-ready body, we can anticipate what will get. In the front end, the crossover will have brand’s downward-plunging grille and shield-shaped face, as well as pretty interesting swept-back headlights. Around back, the 2018 MG ZS looks quite similar to the larger GS, but it has totally different bumper with single exhaust pipe.

There Will Be At Least Two Engines

The ZS rides on the shortened version of GS’s platform. The underpinning is highly stretchable, so the car manufacturer can easily introduce the mid-size three-row seven seats crossover in the near future. The architecture can also accommodate a range of different engines, so the new baby SUV could offer several options. We are sure that there will be a 1.5-liter engine, yet the latest reports indicate that the carmaker works on one smaller three-cylinder mill, which means that the 2018 ZS can easily get the all-new 1.0-liter option. In any case, the engines will be matted to a standard 6-speed manual gearbox and optional 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.

Estimated Price and Arrival

This pretty attractive crossover will not hit the Chinese market first, but right after that it will be released in Europe. The producer hasn’t said anything regarding the price, but our insider claims that the 2018 MG ZS won’t cost over €14,000. The North American car market will not see this crossover anytime soon.
