2018 Nissan Navara SUV: What Is It?

The prototype you see here doesn’t reveal much at all. It uses Navara’s body and Pathfinder back, so it’s a testing mule without its own styling. However, what we know for sure is that uses truck’s platform, which make us to believe that we are looking at the thoroughbred off-road SUV. While some sources claim that the 2018 Nissan Navara SUV could get Armada badge, we think otherwise. The car could get either an all-new name or might be the replacement for the Nissan Patrol. In any case, the Japanese company is working on the vehicle that will go worldwide, and will offer unique experience. As far as we know, the 2018 Navara SUV could enter into the same class as the Jeep Wrangler. The newest research shows that the segment rapidly grows, so they might offer a true Wrangler and 4Runner rival.

Engines and Platform

We can’t tuck under the hood, but the 2018 Nissan Navara SUV might offer pretty the same lineup as the pickup truck version. There will be an oil-burner version that will use a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, as well as a 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline option. Both units will be offered with the standard six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions. Like we said, the SUV will get the same platform, so the carmaker might use the same suspensions as well. This way, the Navara SUV should provide necessary off-road characteristics, stability, handling and cornering.

Stay tuned for more information in the coming months…
