2018 Ram 1500 Mega Cab: Spy and Specs

It appears that Ram is working on something we haven’t seen before. The spy shots you see seem to be the all-new Mega cab model. No, it’s not the new heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 trucks, but the smallest one. Yes, the carmaker will definitely introduce the 2018 Ram 1500 Mega Cab, which is just a warm-up for the arrival of the refreshed Ram 1500 that’s coming in 2018.

2018 Ram 1500 Mega Cab: Specs and Features

In any case, the 2018 Ram 1500 Mega Cab will offer a few additional inches, which is going to have really big influence on the interior. Compared to the regular Crew Cab that is already very spacious, this Mega Cab will likely offer an ultra-cozy interior, especially to the back-seat passengers. Except of the extended body, the testing mule shows no other changes on the exterior. And since the car manufacturer works plans to introduce the all-new model in the near future, it’s quite clear that the Mega Cab model comes with the same bodywork as the regular Ram 1500.

On the other hand, the interior will likely feature some changes. We haven’t seen everything inside, but we have noticed that the pickup truck sports the all-new infotainment system. We are not a hundred percent sure about this matter, yet it appears to be the new latest Pacifica. In addition, the cab also gets new instrument panel and steering wheel, which should have a far better button arrangement.

Engine Options

There is nothing official regarding the powertrain specs of the 2018 Ram 1500 Mega Cab, but the latest rumors suggest there will be some surprises. The base and outstanding V6 Pentastar mill will definitely be upgraded, so you can expect up to 320 horsepower. In addition, the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel will be also revamped, so the towing capacity could easily reach even higher figures. As for the all-new twin-scroll V6, it won’t be ready for the 2018 Ram 1500 Mega Cab, but you can expect it under the hood of the 2019 Ram 1500.
