2019 Volvo XC40 Spied Inside, Looks Like Bigger Brothers

We have spotted Volvo’s all-new compact crossover several times before, yet never this close. More precisely, the latest spy shots reveal the interior of the 2019 Volvo XC40. As you can notice, the luxurious high-riding vehicle from Sweden will adopt a familiar interior styling. This dashboard with a totally digital instrument cluster and a huge touchscreen infotainment has been borrowed from the bigger XC90 and XC60 SUVs, so we know pretty much everything about it.

Even though we haven’t measure it, we know that the screen measures an enormous 9.2-inch diagonally. Plus, it operates pretty much as the tablet and it’s surrounded by pretty big air vents. Since the touchscreen occupies most of the space, there are just several buttons between center stack and console. As for the steering wheel, it appears to be stolen from the bigger brothers. The cabin seems to be cozy enough for all five passengers. The carmaker paid a special attention to the rear-seat passengers, so they will enjoy the comfortable drive almost as those in the front. Of course, the seats are leather upholstered, but we haven’t expected anything less from Volvo.

As for the exterior styling, it’s still completely camouflaged, but we are pretty sure it’s going to look like a tiny XC90. Of course, the compact dimensions will make it more attractive from the larger SUV. Anyway, we managed to see T-shaped Thor’s Hammer” LED daytime running lamps, which are pretty expected as well.

Under the hood, the 2019 Volvo XC40 will offer T2 and T3 inline-3 engines, and probably the T5 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid system.

Stay tuned for new updates.
