2020 Chevy Equinox Shows Changes In The Spy Video

Chevrolet continues to work on the first update for the third-generation Equinox, so we’ve managed to get some new spy shots and a spy video of what appears to be the facelifted crossover. Even though the popular nameplate wears camouflage from the ground up, most of the model stays as it is now. More precisely, the 2020 Chevy Equinox is most definitely getting certain cosmetic changes in the ends, while the rest of the body stays untouched.

From the front, the 2020 Equinox shows an updated grille which keeps its shape untouched, while it gets larger slats for sure. The SUV is most definitely featuring a pair of new headlights that are flanking the grille. Those lights are partly camouflaged right now, but we bet that they are going to be quite similar to the Blazer’s. Also, the lower front fascia should be treated with some revised air intakes which will give a final touch to the new front end of the popular crossover. There are a few touches around back too. As far as we can see, the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox features new tail lamps and the rear bumper, as well as a pair of updated tailpipes. Like we side earlier, the profile doesn’t really point out anything new, though the SUV obviously rides on new alloy rims.

The crossover still hides interior changes, so we can’t do anything else but speculate at the moment. According to the latest rumors, the carmaker will not only update infotainment and driving aids but will also restyle the dashboard.

We don’t think that the carmaker prepares anything new under the hood, so you can expect 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline engines rated at 170 and 252 horsepower, as well as a sole oil-burner in the form of the 1.6-liter mill that pumps out 136 horsepower.

Interestingly, word on the street is that this new model is going to get a more powerful interaction. Yes, the automaker is allegedly preparing the Equinox SS variant. If so, then you can expect not only a more powerful mill, but also some additional tweaks like a sportier suspension, larger wheels with beefier brakes, and extra air intakes in order to cool off the mighty engine.

There’s no word regarding the arrival of the updated crossover, so stay tuned for new information.
