Buick Enspire Concept Electric SUV Previewed Ahead Of 2018 Beijing Auto Show

Buick can’t brag with sale numbers home, but the car manufacturer is definitely one of the favorite brands in China. Bearing in mind the fact, it’s no wonder at all why the carmaker reveals most of the new models there. That’s going to be the case with the Buick Enspire concept too.

This electric SUV concept has been previewed online ahead of its official debut at the 2018 Beijing auto show. Before we start bombing you with powertrain, we have to mention that the high-riding concept vehicle looks amazing inside and out. Even though the exterior styling features a unique design, we have to mention that we see some resemblances with the Avista sports coupe concept. These two models share pretty much the same headlight design, but the lights look better on the electric SUV without any doubt. They are integrated into the grille and make the SUV looks damn good. The “tough-guy” look is additionally spiced with an aggressive bumper. Around back, the battery-powered SUV gets some pretty thin LED stretches in place of usual taillights.

The aggressive exterior design is nothing compared to the futuristic cabin. The inside is paired with an OLED touchscreen infotainment, while the windshield sports augmented reality abilities, so it displays road information and navigation routes. The steering wheel appears to be a story for itself, while everything looks better and more luxurious thanks to real-wood armrest.

Performance-wise, the 2018 Buick Enspire concept will reportedly use “eMotion electric propulsion technology.” The system uses a 410 kW motor which is equivalent to 550 horsepower. This should make the crossover go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds or even less. According to Buick, the electric SUV will have a range of around 370 miles. This sounds even more impressive with the knowledge that battery can be juiced up in just 40 minutes up to 80 percent. In addition to the fast charging, the crossover will offer a wireless charging too, though the carmaker has not been specific about the time of charge.

Even though the Buick Enspire will be just the concept, we are pretty sure that the carmaker prepares the production version for the coming years.
