Citroen’s 2018 DS7 Cross Spied Camouflaged: The SUV Will Come To North America Very Soon

Citroen’s premium brand will definitely introduced one more vehicle. Judging by the latest spy shots, it will be an all-new compact crossover, which should be named the 2018 DS7 Cross. The French car manufacturer already announced its breakthrough to the North American market, and the upcoming SUV seems like a perfect candidate for the mission.

2018 DS7 Cross

The crossover will share a lot with today’s Peugeot 3008. These two will ride on the same EMP2 platform and will have almost the same footprint. Still, DS7’s exterior styling is based on something completely different. The camouflaged prototype sports pretty the same lines as the DS Wild Rubis Concept. At least we think so. The front end hides almost the same grille and bumper treatment, but we can’t figure out what’s happening with the headlights. Around back, the SUV features an interesting hatch, with a massive bumper and unique taillights.

2018 DS7 Cross

Citroen’s 2018 DS7 Cross will have a range of engine options, both gasoline and diesel. Still, the oil-burners will be available for European market only. A 1.6-liter diesel will deliver around 98 horsepower, while a 2.0-liter mill produces up to 148 horsepower. On the other hand, the gasoline model will come with 129 HP strong 1.2-liter three-cylinder and with a topping 1.6-liter, which will be capable of delivering 163 ponies. The fancy SUV may also get a plug-in hybrid powertrain as well. We don’t have any closer information, but the latest rumors indicate it will feature all-wheel drive, as well as the ability to cross around 30 miles with the electric motor. Reportedly, the gasoline engine will power the front wheels, while the electric motor should move the rear axle.

Stay tuned for updates.
