New BMW X6 M50i Filmed At The Nürburgring

BMW’s test drivers never get tired, especially when there’s something interesting to be driven at the Nürburgring. This time, they’ve come with a prototype of the new BMW X6 M50i.

Powertrain Specs

Based on sound under the hood, the coupe-like crossover is definitely featuring the company’s impressive twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8. According to our sources, the mighty engine burns tires with 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. Of course, the unit will come coupled with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission and all-wheel-drive system.

Outside And Inside

Compared to the outgoing model, the new BMW X6 M50i shows a completely different grille. The new one seems to be pretty much identical like on the X7. Also, the coupe-SUV shows a set of new and more attractive headlights, as well as quite imposing air intakes. The new crossover SUV sports a very different slope too. As you can see, the new one is notably sharper, so the rear hatch looks essentially more aggressive. All the way down, the next-gen X6 M50i gets a pair of impressive rectangular exhaust tips. Compared to the regular new-gen X6, the M50i sits closer to the ground thanks to a lowered and sportier suspension. The model rides on larger wheels which have been coupled with beefier brakes.

The more potent coupe-like crossover from BMW will look pretty much the same inside as the regular sibling. More precisely, the high-performance SUV probably host a unique upholstery treatment perhaps with some contrast stitching, while everything else should mirror the new X6. Meaning, most of the technology will rely on a pair of digital displays, while the Bavarian car manufacturer won’t miss the chance to load the coupe-SUV with the latest driving aids too.

Arrival

The new 2020 BMW X6 M50i will be officially introduced at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Still, despite its really powerful nature, the option won’t be the top dog as the company works on a 600-hp X6 M model too.
