Rivian A1T Pickup Truck and A1C SUV Announced For 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show

This year’s Los Angele Auto Show will have the honor to be the host of all-new electric SUV and pickup truck. Even though Rivian sounds like we are talking about some exclusive type of bottled water or something like that, it’s not. Instead, we are talking about an electric car startup based in Michigan. The company will introduce the aforementioned models in Los Angeles this year, though official sales won’t begin before early 2020.

The company has bought the former Mitsubishi plant in Normal, Illinois and bought a couple of big names of the automobile industry, so we expect a lot form the startup company.

As for the upcoming models, well, the SUV will reportedly have a seven-seat arrangement and will be named the A1C. On the other hand, the pickup will be called A1T and will be able to accommodate up to five people. According to the carmaker, the truck will have around 14 inches of ground clearance and will be able to handle 3.6 feet of water. Plus, it’s going to be capable to climb 45-degree inclines. The high-riding vehicle will be as mighty and fast as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Moreover, the company claims that the A1T pickup will be able to speed up from 0 to 60 in just 2.8 seconds which sounds incredible. Though, we believe that figures can only belong to the topping six-figure model that will reportedly have 800 horsepower and will be able to cross over 450 miles on a single charge. The base model will, on the other hand, be limited to around 200 miles.

The Rivian A1T pickup truck will have a price range from $50k to $100k. According to a very few people that have seen the production model already, the A1T will feature a similar design to the Honda Ridgeline.
