2019 GMC Sierra AT4 Finally Introduced, But It Won’t Be The Only AT4 Available

GMC’s All-Terrain 4-wheel drive vehicle will not be just a rumor anymore. No, because the carmaker made one of the kind and will make a number of AT4’s in near future. The first on the list is the 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 which has been scheduled for the upcoming 2018 New York Auto Show. Still, the carmaker made an internet preview a day ago and this is what you can expect from the refined off-roader:

The 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 is essentially different from its regular model. The off-roading equipment includes a standard 4-wheel-drive and a two-speed transfer case. The pickup truck is higher off the ground of course. The suspension is lifted by exactly 2.0 inches, while the vehicle sports locking rear differential and skid plates. Off-roading will definitely be easier with standard Rancho monotube shock absorbers, while potential buyers can choose between 18- or 20-inch alloy wheels. The wheels are paired with all-terrain tires, though you can always pay extra for optional Goodyear Wrangler Duratecs.

In case you think this is everything, think again, because the 2019 Sierra AT4 also features hill descent control and GMC’s Traction Select system. The Traction Select is very useful because it allows the driver to decide which driving mode is the most suitable for the terrain. In addition, it adjusts everything starting from throttle response and shift points, all the way to the electronic stability control.

The awesome truck hosts certain cosmetic updates as well. It definitely looks more sophisticated thanks to some black chrome here and there. Plus, everything looks more effective due to red-accented red hooks. Inside, the pickup truck sports a special treatment which includes dark-tinted and textured aluminum finishes on the steering wheel, center stack and sill plates. There’s a brilliant Jet Black/Kalahari color combination on seats and stitching. The cab has been fitted with a head-up display, while a cargo bed has been partially made from some carbon-fiber in order to be lightweight.

The standard version of the 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 is using a 5.3-liter V-8, but potential buyers can have optional 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 diesel or 6.2-liter V-8 engines. No matter which mill they choose, it’s going to be mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

GMC hasn’t set the price of the Sierra AT4, but this will happen soon, probably shortly after the Big-Apple debut. In any case, it’s far more important that the car manufacturer has a plan to fit every single pickup truck and SUV with AT4 kit. This sounds really amazing don’t you think?
