2019 Range Rover Evoque: Prototype Spotted On Snow

Land Rover is testing its new-generation Range Rover Evoque, yet this time the vehicle is using the production-ready bodywork. Although completely covered with camouflage, the crossover shows what’s going to be new on the exterior. The 2019 Range Rover Evoque will steal a number of styling cues from the bigger and really attractive Velar. Though, it will obviously retain the distinctive coupe-like rooflines.

We didn’t manage to measure the second-gen Evoque in motion, but it looks like the new model isn’t going to change its original footprint. On the other hand, the British car manufacturer will have to do certain changes on the platform. The SUV will keep its today’s LR-MS architecture. However, the underpinning will definitely be updated in order to accommodate some alternative powertrains.

Speaking of which, the 2019 Evoque will rather use a hybrid powertrain than the all-electric system. The mild hybrid setup will reportedly combine a new three-cylinder 1.5-liter Ingenium engine with a small electric motor. This is everything we know about the hybrid version of the crossover at this point of development.

The potential buyers will be able to get the 2019 Range Rover Evoque paired with traditional gasoline and diesel options. An all-new 2.0-liter twin-turbo will deliver around 300 horsepower, while the oil-burner mirroring option should be able to squeeze around 240 ponies.

The carmaker will definitely kill the three-door Evoque, meaning it will be available a five-door model only. The base model will still rely on front wheels only, though the customers will be able to get an all-wheel-drive system for some extra money.

Styling-wise, the testing prototype of the 2019 Range Rover Evoque is showing a Velar-based grille and a pair of all-new headlights, which could be mated to optional LED technology. There are also a bit more pronounced fenders and repositioned side mirrors, as well as new, also Velar-based taillights with a connecting strip, which makes the SUV look wiser from the back. We’ve managed to see Evoque’s cabin a little bit earlier, but it was pretty much the same as the current one. The new-gen model will host a totally new design of course. Still, we have nothing on that at the moment. If the rumors become true, you can expect a standard dual-screen layout, which has been introduced inside of the new Velar.

The redesigned SUV will be introduced before the end of this year, but it will probably hit the dealerships early next year.
