2017 Hyundai Santa Cruz — It will be an Amazing Pickup Truck

The 2017 Hyundai Santa Cruz will be a vehicle that you may love or hate. This is because of its unusual nature and rather unclear orientation of what will be when it arrives on the market. Basically, the Santa Cruz will represent a mid-size pickup truck, but the unconventional exterior design could make it part pickup and part SUV.

2017 Hyundai Santa Cruz: Amazing Exterior Design

This crossover-based truck will offer some great features for those drivers that need a vehicle with towing and payload capacities, and on the other hand, don’t want to drive a classical pickup truck. The vehicle will be based on the ingenious “Fluidic Precision” design language, so we expect some amazing styling tweaks on exterior styling. This especially refers to the front end that won’t have any so far seen pickup truck design. Instead of that, the 2017 Hyundai Santa Cruz will get extremely aggressive curves in the front fascia, along with huge hexagonal grille. The truck should feature the slantwise LED headlamps and unusually shaped fog lamps.

2017 Hyundai Santa Cruz: Possible Engines

The unique design and a compact footprint is just a part of the 2017 Hyundai Santa Cruz. The vehicle will also offer some good drivetrain options. One should be a diesel unit that was introduced with the concept. It is a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine that is able to produce 190 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. It is not official information, but the carmaker claims that the engine delivers a respectful fuel economy of around 30 mpg combined. There will be a gasoline engine option as well. We expect a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo that was introduced with the new Sonata. The engines will be paired with a new a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, or with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The truck will come with HTRAC all-wheel-drive system, while the most powerful engine should be a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder mill.

2017 Santa Cruz: Price and Arrival

The 2017 Hyundai Santa Cruz will hit the showrooms in late 2016 or early 2017. And the base price could be from $20,000 to $25,000.
