GM’s pickup trucks siblings are getting ready to receive the new generation “suits” in 2018. Both the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and 2019 GMC Sierra will come completely redesigned, and what’s more important, totally different.
Now, we can’t say for sure in which direction will go the exterior styling of the pickups, but we can smell what’s cooking in the backyard. Namely, according to Motor1.com, the carmaker signed a contract with Alcoa and Novelis. The arrangement especially refers the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and the 2019 GMC Sierra, which is quite interesting, because this manufacturer produces aluminum. This further means that the next generation Sierra and Silverado might get aluminum-intensive constrictions. Perhaps the similar chassis as it has the Ford F-150? If this happens, the pickup trucks might easily shed over 500 lbs.
